Description

MoldScan may be implemented on all M Series controller cabinets. MoldScan performs an electrical analysis of the heating elements inside the mold and indicates the consumed power on a zone by zone basis.

The following data is available :

  • Installed heating power (in Watts)
  • Resistance of the heating element (in Ohms)
  • Temperature gradient (in Degrees C°/Minute)

The MoldScanoption displays a summary of all possible alarms (Open or reversed thermocouple, load breakage, temperature deviation, ...) in the form of a chart with date and time. It also shows in real-time a graphical representation of the curve for actual temperature versus set-point for the selected zone.

The MoldScan option for M Series controllers also includes an extra external alarm input for external safety parameters and for temperature control. (Machine in service, chill water circulation, etc.)

Applications

The MoldScan option is highly recommended for demanding applications where quality concerns are paramount, regardless of mold complexity. As information is supplied in real-time, a detailed analysis can be performed to investigate reasons for failures or rejects on parts produced. For example, MoldScan can help the tooling department or the toolmaker store a data reference file, in order to provide certified tool status information to the customer at the point of tool acceptance.

Technical features

Functions :

  • MoldScan analysis can be permanent or on request
  • MoldScan analysis: Current (in Amps), Power (in Watts) and Resistance(in Ohms) zone by zone
  • Advanced data analysis: identical to normal + the value of temperature gradient (Degrees / Minute)

Extra input :

  • 2 pins + G connector for external alarm input
